Maytag fails to replace lemon oven after trying to fix it for over two years Ripoff

Immediatly after we purchased our amana oven for our new home we had problems with it cooking evenly. If we put a pizza in, it would cook the back of the pizza to a burnt crisp and the front would be raw almost to a point of being frozen. Cookies, cresent rolls, even thanksgiving turkey has been ruined due to the uneven cooking patterns.

The company was called and they came out and replaced the circuit board and cooking sensor. It seemed to help but still was not the oven that was advertised to cook 5 dozen sugar cookies at once to perfection. The problem once again became so severe that we couldnt cook a pizza in it.

The company was called once again and they came out to replace the hinges on the door. Again it helped intially, but once again became so bad we could no longer use it.

At this point in time the 1 year extended warranty had run out. I am now told I am to pay for all parts and labor costs for a problem that I had from the begining. Also to top it off the oven light won't shut off. I have to put a glove on and manually unscrew it.

So I call amana again and they tell me that in order to have the oven replaced with a new one they have to send out a technician so he can call technical support and see if they can come up with a solution together. I agree. They schedule for a saturday. I asked them if they could give me a window as to what time they will be out. I'm told by the scheduling person that this is not possible. I wait most of the day that Saturday until 2:30 in the afternoon. When he arrives he tells me that the technical service people are not available on saturdays and that it was a waste of a trip and I will have to reschedule for another day.

I call amana back that monday and they procede to tell me that I cancelled the service call. After 30 minutes on the phone with them I get it rescheduled. So they can ruin another day of my life.

The last service call I had I am told that he has no idea what the problem is. After staring at the oven for 10 minutes he comes to the conclusion that the hinges on the door need to be replaced. I told him that we already went down that road and they were replace a year ago. Shouldn't a oven hinge door last longer than a year? I would think so he says.

So the next day I call the amana solutions specialist and tell my 3 year long story over and over to each person I get passed off to. Amana Finally informs me that the hinges are 1 year and 3 weeks old. Which means I miss the warranty by three weeks and I will now have to pay for parts.
Costs for parts:

Circuit board (to get light fixed) 700.00
Hinges (three weeks out of warranty 70.00
service call 130.00
total (with no guarantee to fix) 960.00

Please remember that I paid 1020.00 for the oven.
