Sorry L. Arry. I am another victim of the Laminate Store. These complaints are real, and from real people who have wasted a significant amount of money at this rip-off Laminate store. A simple search will find many complaints about this business. I posted one about 2 years ago, and am still getting email every week or so from someone who have fallen for the pitch.
The tactics described in the posting from a former employee ring very true! Several of these very things happened to me personally.
I eventually found a reputable business selling good quality flooring, with qualified installation personnel. They couldn't believe that the flooring from The Laminate Store lasted less than one year, was of such poor quality and installation.
I have never in my life been so disappinted in myself. As a well educated consumer, I walked into the Laminate Store making every mistake that a consumer could possibly make. I wanted the floors finished as a surprise. Surprise, indeed!
The ripoff web sites are a good way for the consumers to fight back.
Since I lost less than $2000., the pain for me is mostly psychological. You can read many reports regarding the Laminate Store where hard working people lost more than $5000.
