DEAR Microsoft/X-Box,

This letter will most likely go unread and deleted like so many before me. I just wanted to take the time to write you a message to say Thank you. Thank you for ripping me off. I’m one of many dissatisfied and as of today soon to be former customer of yours. My X-Box is a 2008 Halo limited edition. On June my X-Box froze During a X-Box Live Call of Duty game. I reset it and froze again. I shut it off for 10 Minutes then turned it on only to produce three red light blinking lights (RED LIGHTS OF DEATH) as it known on the internet. I called your Customer service for repair and they ended up telling me that their nothing they can do about it because it is out of warranty as of Jan. 1. So I thought it was over with and I was going to send it in for repair and pay $119.00. But when I walk in to the Best Buy where I bought MY X-BOX and the extended warranty, Jose in the Game Department told me the year my x-box was made, the salter used inside my X-Box model, melts off once it gets too hot, and that it was made with a defect and that I should call X-BOX to have it replaced. They also told me X-Box will send out a box and repair it for free, because it was a manufacture defect. I went by Game Stop and they told me the same thing. Check the internet same thing. It is not the case here. X-Box’s customer service agent’s gave me the runaround, lies to me several times, and then help me by not helping me. Speaking to BOB started and ended the same way. Bob What? No Last Name Bob, he wouldn’t tell me. So I asked him “what is Bob short for? ”. He didn’t know that Bob is short for Robert and I find it Funny that his favorite phase is “To Be Honest with you”. I've tried to talk to a Kevin the manager from Vietnam, He said that he completely understands where I’m coming because He’s a “gamer too”. But there is no one I can talk to about my defective X-Box Consul and that Microsoft / X-Box has procedures that he has to follow. So, I have to pay $119.00 to get it fix. So I've made 7 attempts with different agent’s to reach the U.S. And every time, I've been hung up on, left on hold for 20 min before I hung up, and lied to again. One agent told me that I would have to keep calling back to reach a U. S supervisor but then BOB #2 told me that there is no supervisors in the U.S. So Let me see if I got this strait, Microsoft / X-Box releases a defective product, I paid for this defective X-box about $700.00 with the extras added at BEST BUY, Microsoft / X-Box finds out after you release Millions of consuls to the public, fails to inform me or it loyal customers, that the salter is defective. Then, after the Warranty up, stick it to me for the repair. I think I got it now. You don’t value your customers at all. And that it is true what I read on the internet how you don’t care. Your customer service agent BOB said “Bill gate was gracious enough to extend the warranty two more years because of that problem.” Two More Years! Why? My X-box still has defective salter inside of it and eventually it is going to have to be replaced. You could have called, E-mail, put a Post on X-box Live, Or even sent a friendly letter to tell me that my product is defective. Nope! That’s bad for business! Instead, Microsoft / X-Box waited for the warranty to expire and if it didn’t melt down before that date, you got away with it. Cha-ching, Jackpot $, Millions of repairs for $119.00 in your right in back pocket. I guess it’s just the way Microsoft does business. Well, I feel that I did my part and paid for the X-BOX, Games, X-Box Products, and have been an X-BOX LIVE. And how was I rewarded for this? $119.00 that you won’t get from me. I’m saying good bye to X-Box and Hello to Play Station. Thank you! I truly see X-box / Microsoft Greed first Hand.
Your Former Customer, William Harris
