Just made the plunge, bought a “ magic jack ” and it works great, no problems. Plugged it in and it pretty much did the rest.
One problem if you can call it a problem is you can’t use your answering machine built into the phone, gotta’ use the free voice mail service included with the free package.
I bought it from Radio Shack just in case it didn’t work, that way I could always return it and get my money back. But so far so good, and it is my only phone, I canceled my cable phone service at $33 plus $1 for 411 per month, 411 is also free with Magic jack.
On the minus side, if you don’t have the Internet it’s not worth it, because you would be paying the Internet price approximately $750 per year plus the $20 for the Magic Jack.
