Sound Quality - Majic Jack phone

The sound quality to my majic Jack is horrible. The other person's voice keeps breaking up. I have downloaded upgrades, swithed USB port, unplugged the modems just about everything except throwing this thing out. What is the problem? Is this product just no good?
