American Truck Group
Dishonest, and Unprofessional

I flew down on October 15 to purchase a truck from this company. The price was right so I went to my bank and gathered my entire life savings and booked a ticket to Gulfport MS. When I got there someone from the company picked me up from the airport (Collin) he was very friendly. I arrived at the dealership at 10AM with cashier check in hand.

Upon inspecting the tuck I noticed that the air presser was not working at all. I also noticed that some of the tires did not look good. The sales manager Clint came out and said that they would put the truck in their shop and take care of all the issues. I let them know that I just signed a contract with a new company and was scheduled to report to work the following week and I needed it to pass a DOT inspection. They smiled and assured me that everything would be taken care of they would put it in their shop and I would come back the following Monday to pick it up. As I was waiting to sign all the paper work the sales manager (Clint) came out and told me that my cashiers check was fake or stolen, and I needed to contact my bank asap. I was confused as I called my
bank, I followed up with them and they said the check was good. After another hour the sales manager came back in and said it was a mistake on their part. I signed all the paperwork and asked for my title so I could head to the airport.

They had me sit around 3 more hours and told me that they would just mail it to me the next day. I missed my flight waiting around on them and had to pay for a hotel room for the night.

The following day I did not receive the title, and when I called about it I was given attitude by the lady in the compliance department. I explained that I needed to get the truck registered so I could start work the following week. I did not get the title until Saturday 5 days later.

Before I came to pick up the truck I called to confirm that the work was complete. Collin assured me that everything had been done. I came into town the follow Monday and meet with Clint to get the keys for the truck. I asked him was the work complete, he said yes. I also asked him would it pass DOT inspection he said "yes 100% certain". The next day I took the truck to the new company for DOT inspection and to my surprise I failed the
inspection with a laundry list of things that needed to be done. 1. Oil leak 2.

Air pressure not working 3. Wheel seal broken 4. Left turn signal out (electrical problem) 5.3 tires need to be replaced. I was notified that I had to get the work done before I could start working. I called American Truck
Group and told them what was going on and they said they would call me back.

That never happen. I had no other options since I had left my other job but to get the work done. I had to borrow money from everyone to pass the DOT inspection.

I have called American Truck Group several times and have gotten voice mails, promise to return my calls, and hung up on. I can not believe that a company is doing this to someone. I lost $3,000 in repairs and a weeks pay because this company was not honest with me. I still have not gotten a call back. Very very sad that companies can get away with stuff like this.
