My father is an electrician in Alamogordo and he knew Robert Moncada as a respectable auto mechanic. Robert asked my father if he could do some electrical work for him and said that he would fix my Grandfathers truck for him in return. My father did the electrical work over 4 years ago. Robert had the truck for over 4 years and he never fixed it.
I live in the UK but have been in Alamogordo for the last 2 months and I have gone in to check on the truck several different times. The first time I went in he said "Give me 2 weeks, I promise I will have it fixed" I gave him 3 weeks and went in and surprise the truck wasn't done. Then he called and said that he needed to test drive the truck and he needed it insured and re-registered. I did that last Friday and took him the new plates and the proof of insurance. He promised me that he would call my dad on Saturday. Big surprise, he never called.
I finally went in on Monday and demanded to know what was going on with the truck. He told me that he was waiting on a part, but that it would be done on Weds. My father went to pick up the truck today and he told him that he needed more money and more parts.
My father had a friend go over and help him tow it to another shop. After he towed it he realized that the tires and the rims that are on the truck are not the rims that we purchased. There is also a broken window, and countless scratches and dents.
We made a police report and took pictures. We have all of the permits that my father pulled to do the work for him and it looks like we will be going to small claims court.
