Tries to scam you into buying wrecked ca

I've used this web site many times to avoid being ripped off and now I want to return the favor. This dealership had a car advertised on craigslist at a good price. It was a 2009 Toyota Camry XLE (Black) with 92k miles on it. They had the car listed for 12,000 which is well over 4000 dollars below blue book. We called the dealership before going to see it to ask if there were any issues with the car. They told us no, and that it was in perfect condition, they then stated that the reason it was priced so well was because they were able to negotiate a good deal on it as a trade in.

My wife and I decided to go look at it and drove 30 miles out of our way to go to this dealership. When we got there it was dark so we looked at it as much as possible on their lot, then took it for a test drive. We noticed the drivers door make a lot of noise when shut, but the salesman (Bob) was fairly rough when he pushed buttons, etc. So we did'nt think further into it. We drove the car and noticed it was pulling to the right and the salesman was quick to state that it was most likely due to a low tire (this model has the warning that shows when tires are low) so we knew something may be going on.

We went back to the dealership and asked to see the carfax because we had a feeling it may have been in a wreck. The salesman came back with a smug look on his face and dropped the paper in front of us and said "no accidents". At this point we really had a feeling they were hiding something, because he was really trying to pull our focus. We then read on the carfax that when it was brought into their dealership the front struts were replaced and that they had done a four tire alignment. This gave us a huge red flag... Why was it still pulling to the right?

My wife and I then decided to go out and look at the car again, since it was parked in better light. We were then able to see that the whole front of the car had been repainted, and poorly so. We could see that the front right fender had been buffed and repainted, poorly, and the salesman had just tried to convince us that it was dirt, or oil reside. After pointing this out to the salesman his attitude completely changed, he was extremely rude. We asked if any one else had noticed this and he just said no. We realized at this point what they were trying to pull, so we said no thank you.

To summarize how many people have they scammed? Also how many of the cars on their lot are broken? If you decide to buy a car from them make sure you check over it extensively and I would suggest taking it to another shop, not theirs, so you can get an honest report. My dad always said if it sounded to good to be true it most likely is, and he was right.
