I was on my way out to try to find a new car because my payments were to much for me on my current vehicle. I started out by looking at a Monte Carlo. I told them what I wanted my payments to be, but they kept pushing for more and more expensive models.
I then found a used Monte Carlo and we had established a trade-in of $8900.00 on my current car. I said that was ok and so we got into the finance office. They gave me the figures and the payments and I told them that it was too much and that I would have to switch to a different vehicle.
So, I went home for the evening and came back the next day. I had decided to go with the new Aveo instead. It was much cheaper and would cost me a whole lot less then my current car. So, we got a deal going on this car.
Now, instead of them giving me the $8900.00 for my trade like they had showed me before all of a sudden now they were only offering me $6500.00 for my trade. I told them that figure wasn't right and he told me they were giving me more before because it was a used vehicle and not new.
I'm not exactly sure what the difference is here, but once a trade price is established I would think that the dealer would stick to it. I told them that I wasn't getting the car for that and that I wouldn't return for business with them again.
I was very disappointed in the way that they had handled the deal and that they cut my trade down by $2400.00.
