I bought a 95 Dodge intrepid at Powers Auto sales last year. I cannot remeber the exact order the trouble happened in So I will list it,
1. Took in for an oil change shortly after buying the car, had the brakes checked out among other things. The mechanic said, this car is not driveable, the wheels are abotu to fall off! The joints were cracked more than halfway through, and had they cracked totally, the whells would falloff. Also, the brakes were nonexistant, I could have lost my brakes at any time.
Also, the inspection sticker and the emissions sticer were illegal. So, the mechanic calls the dealership, and tells them the problems, and tells them they need to fix it immeadatly, with no cost to me. They refused to do so, saying the repairs were to costly. Well, since the car had been inspected 2 months previously, and a car in that shape would not pass an inspection legally, the mechanic told the dealership that there was no way the car could have legally passed, and if they did not fix the acr, we would have to take legal action for selling a car with illegal stickers. That took car of that problem, and they fixed it, after much arguements.
2. The car started smoking and broke down on me one summer day, called them to have it towed in to the dealership, apparently, somethign in the air conditioner compressor had broken, causing it to lock up, and cause the cause to stop running. I argued with tthem, and they fixed it, or so they said.
They never fixed it, the air never worked again, they had rigged it so the car would run, without the air conditioner being fixed. I let tihs slide, I just wanted awunnign car to get to work.
3. Apparently, when they were making these repairs, they accidently put a hole in the radiator, which I was unaware of.
As I was driving down the highway, the car began to overheat, by the time I pulled over, 5 minut4es later, the car was done. Would not run. The engine had blown up. This was within 3 months of owning the car. I called the dealership up, told them what had happened, and said, I am done. I do not want this car anymroe. It is parked onthe side of this highway, if you want it, go get it. I told them, I do not want this on my credit as a repossion, I alwyas paid on time, and more than what was owed, I have had nothign but problem after problem, I am tired of fighting with you, threatening you in order to get it fixed, and I am done., Go get the car. I never saw it again, or heard from them again.
I have moved out of state and am trying to buy another car, and low and behold, they reported to my credit as a reposession. Saying that I owe 37 dollars! They obvoiusly did this just to screw up my credit because I was such a problem for them, refusing to let them push me around and not backing down when they were ignorant to me, demanding that they fix the car they sold me.
I knew this dealership sold bad cars, everyone knows about them, Their reputation isnt good, but people that have no where else to go must go to them, and they take advantage of that. I would not send anyone to this dealership. Your better off walking.
