I recently bought a vehicle from Oak Motors in Muncie, IN. I've had it for a year. I had just filed bankruptcy and I needed to get into a car fast. They took my information and they said that all I could get into was a 1997 Chevy Cavalier 4 door. I traded in a Pontiac Sunbird Convertible on this car.
By the time that the deal was done, I will end up paying almost 10,000 dollars for this car. It had 88,000 miles on it and the company which financed me, Indiana Finance Company, is charging me an ungodly rate of 22% interest.
And another thing, they put these devices in every car that they call a "Payment Reminder". Which means that if you miss a payment, this device stalls your car so it cannot be driven. So I also have to have the hassle of calling my finance company every single week and obtain a 6-digit code to enter into my car so it will not stall.
About 3 weeks ago I spotted a 1995 Chevrolet S-10 Pickup truck in their lot. I stopped in and see if I could trade my car in on this truck. I owe 5400 bucks on my car right now, with 2 years left on my loan. The sales person told me that I would have to put 2,000 bucks down and my payments would go from 80 dollars a week to 100 a week. And the sale price they had on the truck was almost 12,000 dollars! My point is, this place may put people into cars that have had credit problems, but all the cars on the lot are NOT worth what they ask for them, and it doesn't give them a right to charge 22% interest on them either.
I do not recommend anyone going there to purchase a car or truck. Places like Oak Motors and J.D. Byrider are nothing but huge rip-offs. I dealt with J.D. Byrider in the past... Thats what drove me to bankruptcy. So please, anyone who reads this, please think twice before going to Oak Motors.
