Volkswagen Of America - Desert Volkswagen Ripoff In Las Vegas Wouldnt recognize my warranty because of an aftermarket sterio

Desert volkswagen had to replace the wires on my ignition switch more than three times. Each time they fixed the wires, they made my take something off of my car.

First, it was my neon lights I had on the inside of my car (although I had them in the same year jetta for 6 months prior). To not cause any problems, I took them out, and they replaced the wires. The second time, they said I couldnt have aftermarket fog lights, so I gladly took those off. The third time, they said they replaced not only the wires, but the ignition switch itself.

After the fourth time, they told me my car was fine, and sent my on my way. I took the car to a family friend who told me my wires were fried together, and there was no way that any machanic in their right mind would ever send a car on its way looking like that.

I took the car back to Volkswagen, and they re looked it over, and told me it would be near $2000 to fix, and they warranty wouldnt cover any of it. I asked Brad, the service manager why they wouldnt fix it, and he told me because I have an aftermarket sterio.

When he gave me that responce, I asked how the sterio could effect the ignition switch? He went on and said he has seen plenty of aftermarket parts on my car, and there was no way he would replace the switch. He also told me they never replaced the switch, they just replaced the wires.

After being hung up on a few times by him, I decided to call Volkswagen of America, and make a complaint. To make a long story short, I called them about six times, and each time the representative I spoke with said they would call me back, and they never did.

The one call back that I did get, was from a woman that told me she spoke with Brad, and there was nothing she could do about it.in the long run, I ended up calling a Junk Yard who then sent me the parts I needed and I had to install them myself.

What a wounderful warranty I have!!! I would not suggest buying another Volkswagen to anyone ever because of all of the problems ive had!!!
