When I bought the Jetta from the dealership, they talked me into buying their Service Plan too. They promised me 2 things (verbally of course) - 1. The service plan could be used at any Volkswagen dealership in this country. 2. I would not have to pay an additional penny for servicing upto 60,000 miles.
Neither one of those is true. I took my car to another dealer in Fairfax and they said it can only be used in the location where you bought it.
Secondly, when I went for my 20,000 mile servicing, I was told that I would have to pay an additional amount (approx $100) since my service plan is not going to cover the full service.
I went back to the dealer to get a refund and they said that almost 40% of what I had paid would be deducted even though I had never used the plan. Also, I called Volkswagen and they said that they could not do anything about it, since it is a dealer plan. Seems like Volkswagen doesnt really care.
This is my first and last Volkswagen I am going to buy specially from that dealer.
