Own A Car, American Family Insurance ripoff

When my cars engine decided to not run any longer our daughter and son in law bought us one alot newer. They told Own a car they were buying the car for her parents because theirs Quit and her Dad has congestive heart failure. On a fixed income and needed a dependable car for trips to the Dr. S.

Everything was fine and they were fianced that very evening.

But in order to drive the car off the lot there had to be insurence on it. Since I and my husband were to be the owners and only ones to drive it I got the insurence in our names. I told the insurence co. What happened to ours andhow our daughter and son in law were buying this one for us. There was not a problem, and they faxed Own a car a copy of the policy and all info they would need.
We went to the lot to pick up the car and the salesman, Joseph, came to us and said that the insurence company would not be able to insure us since neither my husband or I were on the loan.

After an hour of confussion, for we had already started the policy and Own a car had all infor, I agreed to put my name on the paperwork. Joseph asked me my name, date of birth, SS#, income, etc., then O.K. Now he said I need to sign it.

What am I signing? He told me a loan application.
Then he brought out a lot of paperwork with our son in laws signiture on it and all the stats. He said I'd need to sign by our son in laws name and proceeded to tell me what each paper stated, like if he failed to make the payments that I would be liable.

He did no credit check, I haven't worked for 8years and my husband was not on the papers. He is our income, SSD and a small V.A. Pension.

So now Own a car has two different signed contracts for the same car.$5000.00 each. One with just our son in law and one with him and I on it. The 1st. Contract just kind of dissapeared and wasn't talked about for 2 full days. And if this isn't enough, Joseph refered us to an insurance agent that said if I and my husband had a checking account our insurence would cost $130.00 a month if not it would be double.

And if our son in law would file an SR22 American Family ins. Would get him a huge discount.

For a car that was already approved for the loan in the kids name to our son in laws name with me the co-signer. And no credit check on me as co-signer. All I did was to go pick up the car and let the kids pay for it.

This started two days ago and no mention of the very first contract. Own a car weasled 2 different contracts for $5000.00 each and they think I'm going to sit by and let these people take everything my family has saved for.
I did not go to co-sign on a policy that was a lie.
Between the salesman and the ins. Agent there was so much hostility, lies, sneaking around and confussion, it is still a nightmare.

It is amazing how fast that car doubled in cost and and I qualified to be co-signed with no income, for 8 years.
It's not over yet, I saw your web site and decided to start here.

Next I'm going to get to the bottom of this double cross even if I have to contact every lawmaker, lawyer, newspaper, and I don't know who else.
But this sounded like a good place to begin.
I swear they will not get by with this.
Thanks for listening to an old grandmothers troubles and wish me luck.
