Enterprise are scam artists! I'm currently ignoring not one, but two claims that are totally bogus. I dropped my car off in the middle of a bright, sunny day in southern california where one of their employees did a walk around and didn't note any damage... Amazingly a dent was found weeks later. If she couldn't see that damage in full daylight, it didn't exist, and we (enterprise and myself) both know it. I believe this claim for the dent stemmed from the fact that i had the misfortune of having a blowout with this car on a very busy frwy.
I'm lucky i was close to a ramp and was able to roll over to the side of the hwy. I called their wonderful roadside service, who put me on hold for 15 minutes. Forturnately, an LA city worker pulled over and changed the tire... He does this for a living, and did not recognize what was in the tire that made it blow out. It wasn't from the road... My guess? A defective tire (which the enterprise employee who drove me to my sisters home after i dropped off the car, said they get from the factory all the time). I did not drive on the wheel except to pull over (i've had to do the same thing with my own car and there was never damage to the wheel)... But, i'm sure, with glee, enterprise thought "we're in the money"!! And tried to charge me for a bent wheel and threw this dent in as icing on the cake.
I'm ignoring their letters, i've cancelled the credit card they have on file and called my insurance company to let them know that i'm a victim of an enterprise swindle. They assured me they won't pay a penny. As for enterprise, let them "blacklist" me... I could care less! I'd never give this disgusting company another dime anyway.
I wish i'd read about them before ever renting a car from them. Not only are there numerous consumer complaints of fraud regarding "damage" they also have been renting out recalled autos? As a result, two young ladies were killed when an enterprise rental caught fire (there was a recall in effect when they rented this car out). To add insult to injury, enterprise tried to claim the driver was suicidal... Nice thing for the family to go through after losing their two daughters. Btw, enterprise ended up paying 15 million for killing these poor girls. Enterprise sucks... Be a savy consumer and use hertz (hertz has agreed never to rent out recalled vehicles and enterprise is fighting them on that... Also hertz takes pictures of the cars before and after you rent... Something enterprise wouldn't dream of doing... As long as they can take your money, they'll continue to scam).
