My husband and I purchased a car from Rocky's auto sales last summer. It was a 1990 Dodge daytona. The seller of the car at the dealership told us that any problems with the car they would fix if we bought it. The passenger door was stuck and would not open from the outside. There was also a noise under the hood and he said that it was just a squeeky bolt and not to worry about it.
Well, we paid on the car for 4 months and last december the front axle snapped. The Dodge dealer looked at it and said the axle was bad for a long time and when I told hime taht we only had it for at the time 4 months and it was parked in the drive not driven, he said that it was doctored up so taht we did not know that it was bad. The dealer called my residence about two weeks after we found this out, and asked me if I liked my car. I told him taht it was ok but it was broken down from the time we had it. This was about 8 pm at nite. Well he called me back and said that he could pick up the car and fix it for us because I had proof that it was like that since I got it. He came appoximately two hours later and picked up the car. He told me to call at the end of the week and he would tell me how much it was, we were going to split the costs.
Well on friday, I called to ask how the car was and if it was done. The woman who answered the phone put me on hold for about 20 minutes long distance mind you! She then came back on the phone and told me that the car was reposessed because My check got lost in the mail which they had when I called them in the office and I would have to pay a $350 repo fee. Nowhere was I told that they did not get the check I sent them, until I called that day or even that I was delinquent in my account.
I found out later that they have sold this same car numerous times before after I purchased it and each time they bought it back from the auto aution.
Let the buyer beware with crooks like these.
I learned my lesson and It will haunt me forever, its on my credit and Will take forever to come off.
