I told the gas attendant (who was talking on a bluetooth) that I wanted $30 on my credit card. He nodded and started the process only to put in $50. When I told him I only wanted $30, he said that he only heard me say "credit". Rather than making a rude comment about how maybe he would have heard me correctly if he wasn't on his bluetooth, I repeated that I only wanted $30 worth of gas. He told me that he had put in $50 and could he charge the account 50. I said yes and drove away
When I came back later to speak to a manager, it was the attendant (who was still on his blue tooth). When I again repeated (politely) that I didn't think it was right to charge me for something I didn't ask for, he handed me a $20 bill and told me to "go f *ck myself".
