Charged me a late fee when they already had my payment deposited!

I mailed my car payment to Chrysler on Feb 4. On Feb. 11th Jeannine Sloan (Acct Manager, phone 215/315-7672 or 800/685-8300 x 7672) called to say they did not get my check.

I told her I mailed it on Feb 4th, checked with my bank (check was cashed by Chrysler on Feb 11th). Jeannine said they did not have it and demanded I call bank and cancel check (and pay fee) and let her call bank and get payment directly (then other checks would bounce). I told her again my bank said Chrysler cashed on Feb 11th-same day she is speaking to me-check her records. She said she doesn't have to; all she has to do is call my bank and get payment authorized by phone (which would result in a charge to me).

She was loud and rude and would not let me speak (she would continue speaking in a loud voice so I could not be understood). I told her if she would not listen to me or continue being rude, I would hang up. She continued to talk in a loud voice so I hung up. She immediately called me back at work, I told her do not call me here if she is going to be rude.

She continued talking loudly so I could not be heard, so I hung up. She kept calling me back and hanging up when I answered (I have caller I.D. On my work phone). She called 5 times in succession and left 2 messages at my home voice mail. I called the Chrysler number on my invoice for customer service, asked for a supervisor, and got routed to Jeannine again. She laughed at me and said I could call all I wanted I would only get routed to her!

I asked her for her supervisor's name and she laughed and hung up. I called the customer service number again and asked for the supervisor (and again got routed to Jeannine). She said she is going to arrange for them to come and take my car away (which I know she couldn't do since I am current with my payments, but I was appalled she would threaten to do this). She then sent me a late notice in the mail with a late charge of $14.

I got a copy of my check which was cashed on Feb 11th from my bank - so Chrysler is ripping people off by having your payment and still charging you a late charge. I have written several letters and they have not removed this late charge. (How many people do they practice this fraud on for how many thousands of dollars?) Then ignore the letters we send in and have rude employees harass and threaten us. It is impossible to get satisfaction from Chrysler or courtesy from its employees. I am appalled to be treated like this and apparently she will get away with it, because every time I tried to complain I just got routed back to her, and my letters remained unanswered and my complaint unresolved (with the late charge still on my bill).

There are thousands of people who are out of work who would appreciate her job, do it more efficiently and be more courteous to customers.
