I have been a faithful Jeep driver since I turned 16.in 2004 I bought a Jeep Liberty, I paid my payments on time and was very happy with my jeep and had no problems with Chrysler Financial. At the end of October my Jeep was stolen. My insurance company waited two weeks to see if my car would be recovered (my next payment for the car was about 4 weeks from when it was stolen), and when it was not recovered, they sent a payoff check to Chrysler to settle my account with them.

One week after the check had been sent to Chrysler I received a letter from the company saying that my account had been closed and thanking me for my business, so naturally, I thought my account was set. However, about 5 days after receiving that letter, I received a call from Chrysler telling my that I missed my last payment and that I needed to send a payment in.

I contacted Chrysler and asked what had happened to the pay off check. The only answer that I could get was that it was sent back from the bank because it was a "bad check". This check was not a personal check, it was from an insurance company, so there was no way it could have been a bad check. So after arguing with the rudest customer service agents, I contacted my insurance representative, who also got on the phone with them and they were just as rude and unhelpful to her.

Finally, they suggested that the insurance company send another check, and that I would have to pay any remaining interest. I agreed and my insurance company overnighted another check. About 5 days later, I contacted Chrysler, asked if they had received the check, the person on the phone said yes, and I owed $130.00 in interest and after that my account would be closed. So I sent in the payment, and again, I thought my account was closed.

However, about 1 week later I started receiving the harassing calls from the collections department telling me that my account was a month overdue! So again, I called Chrysler Financial, and again they told me it was a "bad check". I asked what a bad check meant, and they could not tell me, they suggested it was my insurance company's fault. So I called my representative again, and she called the bank the checks were being sent to. It was not my fault, it was not my insurance company's fault, it was Chrysler's fault.

The bank sent the checks back because Chrysler refused to endorse the checks! Not only that, but this bank had been sending back checks frequently because Chrysler would not endorse the checks, so they could not be cashed! They had been harassing me constantly because of something that was THEIR FAULT!

Finally, we sent a third check with an obnoxious note attached saying if they endorsed the check, it will clear. Low and behold, the check has just finally cleared and my account had finally been closed. It took 3 checks and a month and a half to get this settled based on something that was their fault. This is unacceptable. The customer service people were rude and incompetent, and they were continually harassing me for money, even though they had 2 perfectly good checks that would have cleared had they endorsed them.

I will never buy another Chrysler car, I will never use Chrysler financial again and I will tell everyone I know about how incompetent this company is.
