CRST Expedited
False Information

On Jan 4 I spoke to a recruiter name Sarah S and I was told about the program at CRST training me for my CDL lisc. I was told that I would be away from home almost 10 weeks. Of course my familiy was concerned about since I do have school age children in the home. I had Sarah S to speak to the woman of the home, and she asked Sarah S if there was family emergency how did they handle that. Sarah S told her that she would get me back home.

There were a family emergency and I had to return back to NC from Iowa. When I went to Sarah S. About my situation she told me that they could not send me back, I had to get back on my own. They had paid for my ticket there which was a one way ticket. To get me there and strand me in Iowa out in a strange state to me was unacceptable. Since she had promise me and the woman of the home that she would get me back home. Sarah S (Lied) I was also told by Sarah S. That my background information was cleared, before and she was going to send me a ticket come Iowa. Which she did. When I got to Iowa I was told that there would be a $50.00 for the background check. (another lie Sarah S told or fail to tell me the complete story) I was told that I had to provide my own breakfast and dinner. CRST would provide me with lunch. During Orientation there were two groups set up one upstairs and one down stairs. The group was down stairs was handed out slips for lunch and the group up stairs was told if they did not get a slip they would have to pay for the food. I was the group upstairs and was told I had to pay for my food. (another lie Sarah S told)

For CRST recruiters to give people false information over the phone and get you there and the whole story changes is WRONG! And to say the least is fales representation of who they really are and what they have to offer to people who are interested in getting in the trucking business. There was lots of conversation I over heard while I was there that they get paid about 8,000.00 per person they bring to the Orientation there. I also hear this same information from other drivers that drives for other companies. While there I observed other drivers been sent back home for background information not been in order and various reason.

My experince with them was that they had supposed had already screened the background information, before sending you a ticket to get there. Once you got there and if your information did not check out the would strand you there and you would have to find a way to get back home on your own. I had an Emergency at home and they stranded me there. I had already spent $600.00 to get there of money that I really did not have to spend. Going there to get my CDL so that I could better provide for my family. Then I had to call home to get another $200.00 to get back home. I spent two days having to review on my own information needed for my CDL permit. I was told that they would teach me in a classroom setting what I needed to know in order to pass the test for my permit.instead I was handed a test with answers already circle on it and was to study from that. That to me was not learning what I needed to know honest. I did not feel good about learning it in that manner. It would have been nice if there was an instructor in the class to go over the information in class and then gave a test to the class to see how much I had learned incase there were things on the test that I did not get correct that would had been an opportunity for me review those missed questions and learned that needed informaton. To say the least Sarah S sold me the moon and I did not even see the stars. If it is true that our Government is paying CRST Expedited $8,000.00 a head for each person they bring in there for Orientation.

Our Government is being Ripped off and it needs to STOP! CRST is not been truthful about what they offer and is bringing people in and stranding them to find their own way back home. They do not feed them lunch either. Most people are going there for a job in the trucking business and in our case spending money under false pretense to go there and stranded if you have to leave in an emergencey.in other words if my family was not able to gather the money up and get me back home I would have been on the street in Iowa or staying in their lodging if they allowed me to stay since I had to leave for home, and racked up more of a bill at $150.00 a week owed to them. With no income from them for the training time I was away from home.in other words you are not paid until you go out on the road in the supposed to be 28 days cycle. Even with that there were driver that had their CDL and was still sitting around racking up a bill to them waiting on their trainer to take them on the road.
