Thrifty Car Rental
Will not return calls or attend to vehicle malfunctions

I rented a Chrysler Pacifica from Thrifty Car Rental on Sunday evening. I had a few minor problems but when I called Thrifty the next day and they told me they had another Pacifica but they couldn't hold it until I got there.

I didn't bother to exchange after the second day when I was told the same thing again.in addition to the loud noise the key pad was not operational and everytime I got into the car I had to reset both the clock and the radio.

On my way to a meeting on Tuesday I was pulled over by a State Trooper for speeding. The speedometer read 60mph and I was paced at 70 mph by the State Trooper. I figure I misread the speedometer and took the speeding ticket and proceeded to my meeting. I made sure I didn't do a mile over 55. Ever car on the freeway passed me. As I was leaving from my meeting at the Naval Base where the speed limit was 15mph the speedometer read 55mph, as I was getting on the highway and the speedometer registered at 110mph.

I called Thrifty, the folks at the front desk gave me the name and number of their station manager. I called her for three days straight and she never returned a single phone call. I even went to the office to see her about this matter and left my name and number and she still did not return my call. I even left a message for the general manager and he didn't return my call.

I exchanged the vehicle on Thursday and explained the problems in detail. The employee who received the vehicle was in disbelief so she drove me from the rental return station to the drop off side of the airport, which is approximately 1 mile. The vehicle registered 55mph in a 15mph zone.

My flight left out Friday night I still didn't hear anything from anyone from Thrifty. On Monday morning I received a call from someone in the Fleet department explaining that I will have to pay for the vehicle to be tested.in addition to these charges I would be charged for the days that the vehicle was not in use. I was floored needless to say. The Fleet worker was the only person that I spoke with from Thrifty informing me of the charges.

This is the worst example of how any business should be run. It seems that I am the fall guy for a faulty vehicle. I am npt liable and should not be held liable for something that could have been resolved if management would have been responsive.
I am really dissappointed in the treatment that I received at Thrifty.
