I rented a vehicle at the Thrifty Car Rental near LAX not in LAX. I looked at the bill when I returned the car and begain to ask questions. I wanted to know why the airport fees was there because there were two airport fees on the bill when the car rental company is two miles away fron the airport. Well they took one of the airport fees off, but there was a tourism fee on the bill. I don't think all of the car rental company charge an airport fee because they are not located in the airport. I believe some do it because no one has challenged them on this issue. Many car rental company are located in the airports across the country and they charge airport fees because they are actual in the airport, but LAX has no car rentals on the airport grounds, therefore, Thrifty and the others that charge an airport are ripping us off. I would be surprise if the airport see any of that money.
Please look into this matter and find out what can be done.
Thank you,
Lacy
