Toyota Matrix (2007)
Defective product/poor customer care

At about 40,000 miles, my father's toyota matrix began shaking and shimmying right because it hit 50 to 60-mph. He took it directly into toyota, however they told him he needed new tires. My father bought new tires at another area, however the problem endured. He took it back to toyota, plus they told him he required struts and mounts along with a lot of other things that would have cost him lots of cash. My father was suspicious they just wished to rip him off; therefore he dicided to simply live with the issue (because he also didn't have time he could take from his job to keep making appointments to take the car in). My father had a medical supply shipping work (which caused him to be on the highway six days per week for extended hours). Every single day, my father would have the shakes and also the shimmys, but he couldn't take some time or could he spend the quantity of money that toyota was attempting to charge him. 2 yrs later, while my father left the shipping work, i got the automobile set for another check. Toyota explained that it was an ecm computer which was misfiring. I settled $702.25 for that fix, and within half an hour, the vehicle was shaking and shimmying again. I got it again, and toyota reset the computer and explained that it'd have a few days to regulate. The check engine light continued and didn't set off. I wound up taking it back, which moment, toyota explained the car needed a. I expected if the misfiring pc may have damaged the indication, of course if it may be something which toyota is likely for. Toyota refused that it was responsible for that. Since i have was laid off at that time and that i didn't have $2,500.00 to get a restored indication, i went off and lived with the shaking and shimmying. Later this year, we received a recognition letter for exactly the same ecm that i'd already installed. I got the car in, and toyota has "ripped my string" since! They will not reimburse me for that ecm alternative, plus they haven't done anything to resolve the shaking and also the shimmying.

I've owned five toyota vehicles previously seven years, but following this very bad encounter, next time that i trade-in some of my vehicles, i'll not proceed the route of toyota, and neither will any of my household members!
