Another great example of a company that has lost track of who the customer is. I had a simple $38.00 charge on my corporate AMEX card that did not get paid via auto payment that took from January to May to resolve with AMEX.

AMEX took weeks to respond to issues while the fees built up from the original $38.00 to $180.00.

Calling AMEX routes you to some call center in India or some other country to talk to folks that barely speak english. I asked multiple times to speak to an American about the issue and they told me that I could not. They passed me on to a supervisor named Amen that after multiple calls reduced the $180.00 by $60.00. The last time I called back the person I talked to said Amen was not a supervisor so all they had done was pass me back and forth in their world until I got tired enough to pay them to get rid of them.

The only recourse I had was to turn this over to the State Attorney General's Office. I know I will never see any $ from this but it will cost AMEX way more to respond the the Attorney General's office than it would have to take care of their customer. When contacted, the Attorney General's office said AMEX was the highest complaint leader regarding credit card scams.

I am in the process of having all our corporate business moved from AMEX to another card carrier and we will no longer take AMEX at our business. We gross over 40 million a year so for $82.00 AMEX will loose thousands for years to come.

All is well that ends well.
