I went to The Car Exchange because it looked as though they were a reputable company. Boy, was I wrong.
First, it took three days for me to actually get the car. They would tell me to come back tomorrow at a specific time and I would show up, I would wait for hours, just to be told to try back the next day.
On top of that they never gave me a copy of my contract. I had phoned them plenty of times about it and they always said it would be ready it never was. Finally, I had my boyfriend actually go to the office, where he was told that I would have to be the one to request it. I had already done that and gotten nowhere.
One part of the contract I did have was the warranty. But about 3 months after getting the car I recieved a letter from the warranty company telling me my contract was not valid because The Car Exchange did not even have permission to issue a warranty under their name.
The worst part of all was when I specifically asked the salesman how much the car was he said $8000.00. Since I did not have a copy of the contract I had to check my credit report to find out that I actually paid $4000.00 more than that. I have never been so embarassed and humiliated before in my life. I am now looking to purchase the book "Ripoff Revenge." Thank you consumer complaints for allowing me the opportunity to perhaps help one consumer to not get shafted
