Budget has a NEW policy that ALL Debit Card Holders MUST pass a 750 or better Credit Check before renting any vehicle. While they are NOT mandated to display this in their rental location or even inform you of the pending credit check before the run your credit, you may get advised that you failed the credit check and you can not use your Debit Card.
This will also place a Hit on your credit report, and hits are NOT GOOD if you are trying to clean up your credit or are looking to Buy a home or Vehicle, and the hit remains for up to 2 years.
Budget Corporate claims that Debit Card holders are more of a security risk than a "REAL" credit card holder.
So when thinking of moving and needing a Moving Truck or just needing a car for a special event, If using a Debt Card, be strong in your credit score or look to another company that accepts Debt Cards without a hassle.
