Used a debit card to rent a vehicle in March from Budget. Budget put a hard inquiry on my credit report without my authorization or notification of credit report check.
After I found the hard inquiry on my credit report I contacted the franchise owner and regional office director but no response. There's is no notification within Budget car rental agreement that your credit report will be checked if a debit card is used for car rental.
Most of the employees do not even know budget system performs credit report check should a customer decides to use a debit card. I believe that budget should seek customers authorization to pull his or her credit report.
