Then make sure you check the quality of the work you requested and prior to paying for the work. You may be billed, as I was, for parts pickup (several times over), research for parts, ordering parts, additional fees for pickup of parts, and "design fees." For example, if a small metal mount has to be fabricated, you will be charged a "design" fee. I had similar items fabricated by a welding shop and there was no design fee and the price was significantly lower. You may find your invoices skyrocketing with business owners Guy Algar and Andrea White aka Motorheads Performance. The business owner (s) are allegedly not certified ASE mechanics, they are not a certified I-Car paint shop, and they are not a certified engine machine shop. The latter certifications are desired standards in the auto repair and auto restoration business. The shop is located out in the middle of farm and ranch country on a country road. This country road is on the outskirts of the small town of Nixon, Texas. The last time I visited this business, there was no business sign. Motorheads Performance is run out of the owner's garage on his residential property. Apparently there are other internet businesses also run by Guy Algar and Andrea White via various internet websites. Motorheads Performance claim in newspaper advertisements and related media, that they are a full service trailer repair shop. Additionally, they claim they provide the following services: Business Management and Design Services, Internet Hosting Services, Website Development, Design Services, and so forth. This is in addition to trailer repair and auto restoration services? Motorheads Performance also claim in newspaper advertisements and related media, that they are a full service trailer repair shop. However, when they bill you for several parts pick up charges, they then tell you they are no longer a full service shop and so you must incur their charges for travel to pick up basic parts like nuts and bolts. For example, you may be charged $35.00 to pick up bolts or other fasteners. Guy Algar is a Mechanical Engineer. However, allegedly he is not an ASE mechanic, and he is not a renowed auto restoration expert. There are distinctions between a Mechanical Engineer and a certified auto restoration and auto mechanic. Andrea White apparently is a management and marketing professional, as stated in their websites. However, Motorheads also claim she is a technician currently repairing automobile transmissions. Repairing transmissions is a complex area involving extensive training. Both Guy Algar and Andrea White indicate on their websites, self-authored articles, and their own blogs that they have years of experience in trailer repair and automotive restorations. Guy Algar apparently also fixes farm equipment? Check the facts and ask for proof. Caveat: Please compare estimates to other businesses. Other businesses may not charge you to research parts and hourly rates to order parts. I had to negotiate a settlement with this business via small claims court. I had estimates from three other businesses pertaining to the labor charge Motorheads planned to charge me.in each instance, Motorheads were at least 50 percent more than comparable repair businesses.
