Went to Firestone at noon on Sunday to get my car repaired. It was making a loud sound.
First I was told it was a bearing in the alternator that was out, then it was changed to a pulley at the bottom of the engine, and finally I was told it was the water pump that needed to be replaced. The labor was over $500 but the part was $43.00. Total cost was 571.
That work was completed but that did not fix the car, now they called to tell me the engine needed to be replaced and they would waive the 571 if I would put a $2500 engine in it. According to the manager, they try to fix the car with the less expensive repairs first. If I have it junked then I am stuck paying for a repair that didn't work.
