Firestone
Bad experience. Don't go here

Ok, So a few months back my rotors became very warped to the point the car would shake every time I stopped. I took the cart to Firestone and not only did they fix the breaks they also did a full vehicle inspection. The inspection ended up being 4 pages with recommended services totaling over $2000. One of the services recommended was a known issue to me. My car had had a slow coolant leak from a gasket, Firestone quoted me $1034 to fix it. A few months later after getting tired of constantly smelling coolant I agreed to have Firestone fix the leak. I dropped the car off at 7am on a Saturday. Around noon I got a phone call saying that they had gotten everything taken a part and noticed there was a problem with the timing belt. They told me that It was be best to replace it now and avoid paying the extra labor charges down the road, I gave them the go ahead and agreed to the additional $122 charge. At about 5:30 pm Firestone called me and said the car was ready. I went in paid the $1156 and hopped in the car. I noticed a small squeaking noise but thought it was because of the new belt and would go away quickly. I got the car home and everything seemed to be working, no more coolant smell.

After being home a while I decided to go shopping at a store. While I was in the store customer service went on the PA system and said my license plate number and asked for the owner to return the the vehicle immediately because it was smoking. I quickly went outside and discovered that it was steam from all the coolant that had just leaked all over my hot engine. I called Firestone and told them what happened, they said they were headed home for the night but to bring the car back first thing in the morning. I was able to drive the car home but not with out a even louder squeaking and a steaming engine. This ruined my Saturday night...!

Sunday morning I had AAA tow the car back to Firestone, I went inside to give the employees a piece of my mind. I explained that I paid them $1100 to fix a problem they only made worse. The employee said that something else could have gone wrong and if that was the case i would be responsible for paying to have it fixed. I told him that the car was not experiencing this problem before they worked on it so they were going to fix it. 4 hours later i had not herd anything so I called them and asked what was going on with the the car. I was told that a hose came loose and that they re-attached it and the car was ready for pick up. I returned to get the car and saw that they had it parked in one of their handicapped spaces when plenty of other spaces were open, I'm not handicapped. This time when I got in the car i still herd the squeaking AND the check engine light was now on. I went back inside and told them. I was told that that the check engine light had nothing to do with them. I explained that the check engine light was not on when I brought the car in on Saturday. After a brief argument they cleared the codes and told me the squeaking was due to the new belt and would go away.

Fast forward to Tuesday morning after working a 16 hour double shift I get in the car and start heading home when out of no where the squeaking becomes extremely loud, I went straight to Firestone. They could not explain what went wrong this time and replaced the timing belt.

Seems like everything is good now after 3 visits and close to 20 hours of labor.
