We had our back brakes replaced by the Meineke store in Sherwood, OR on 01/10/03.
On 10/30/03 we took our car to the Tire Factory to get the struts replaced. When they took off one of the back brakes they noticed that the bolt was not the normal factory bolt and that it had been welded in place. They said someone had jimmi rigged the brake to make it stay put without the proper bolt. We ended up having to pay $448 to replace the back brakes.
We contacted the Meineke in Sherwood the very next day and spoke with the manager, Scott, since they were the last ones to touch our brakes. After lengthy discussions between Scott, oursleves, and the manager of the Tire Factory, Scott agreed to work out a settlement.
We meet with Scott and Bill (owner) on 11/01/03 and they agreed to reimburse us the $448. Then on 11/05/03 they contacted us and said they bought the old brake part from the Tire Factory and they would no longer honor their agreement.
This company is unethical and dishonest. Not only did they improperly replace our brakes, but they also did not honor their "warranty", and went back on their word.
Do not trust this store and do not take your car their for any reason.
