Took my 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee in for a small oil leak. Was told it was the power steering pump that needed to be replaced and although the pump was under warranty all of the power steering pressure line would have to be replaced also which did not come under warranty. My comment to the service writter was, how could all of this be leaking when only one small drop of oil appeared on my garage floor?
It took 4 days to repair the vehicle and when I was called up to be advised that my vehicle was readt this same service adviser said to me, Oh by the way we also found a crack in your power steering reservoir and had to change that unit also which is not under warranty.
When I arrived at the dealership to pick up my vehicle I asked to see and have all of the parts that had to be replaced. This service writter refused to give me, or even let me see 2 of the 3 parts replaced in the power steering and the only part that he would give me is the power steering resevior which I believe was the problem all along.
I thought it was consumer law that they had to show you or even give you all the parts that they said they replaced. He said the pump was under warranty and not my concern or cost but I responded that I was charged for the 3 hoses replaced that connected to that pump at a cost of $ 294.89
