Avondale Toyota
Ripped off!

On May 31 I arrived at Avondale Toyota to explore possible options of upgrading my 2008 Tundra. The salesman informing me that with a refund of my existing extended warranty, a refund on the core charge of the stock wheels, and less expensive upgrade wheels I could do it with little increase to my current monthly payment. I adamantly stated that I was on the fence with the whole deal, and that my decision would ride in large upon what he was promising. He implored me that I would get what we were agreeing to, so I decided to make the purchase. Once the contract was signed, things changed. I did not receive the amount stated of what I would get on my extended warranty. I did not receive what was promised on the stock wheel return. The price of the new wheels that they charged me was VERY shady! They first refused to give me a breakdown of exactly what I was paying for. They finally agreed to give me the prices, but it was scribbled on a piece of scratch paper (very informal). The numbers that were written did not correlate to what their catalog stated and arbitrary percentage increases (stated as their fees) were suspect. The parts sales person hesitated when I asked what percentage they used and when he did give me the percentage it did not correlate to what was written down. I did my own research on the exact same wheels and consistently found that I was overcharged approximately 8.6% ($232)... And that was after their arbitrary percentage fees.

Upon delivery of the new truck there was a dent on one of the fenders. They repaired the dent but not to the effect of a new vehicle. The dent is still noticeable and cannot be repaired within any economically plausible methods. Keep in mind that this vehicle has 14 miles on it for which I was paying $39K! A brand new truck should be in mint showroom condition, not near mint condition.

Promise on extended warranty (estimated): $700-800Amount received on extended warranty (actual): $308Promise on stock wheel refund: $450Amount received on stock wheel refund (actual): $110Price of new wheel upgrade: $2685Price of accurate new wheel upgrade (after their fees): $2453

They ultimately scammed me out of $964-$1064.
