Complaint / Review
Wheel Deal
Would only accept cash - would not write receipts - refused to pay - repoed ca

I went to pay my car payment in October to Wheel Deal (Roger/RodneyGoldstein). My husband who I am nolonger with used to go and pay the car payment and he always refused to give areceipt. My husband and him had become on friendly terms so my husband thoughtit was not an issue that he wouldnt give him a receipt.in October I realized I had no copies contracts (I think my estranged husband took them) and when I went to make my car paymentI asked for copies and a receipt for payment. He used the same excuses he always had and stated he didnt have time towrite a receipt nor give me copies of my paperwork and yelled at me and calledme derogatory names no woman should be called.

I then told him that I wasnt going to pay him if he couldnt write me areceipt and then he said he was going to reposess the car. I complained to the Better Business Bureauabout the incident. When Wheel Dealreceived the complaint they repossessed my car because I stated in writing Iwould not pay (reason no receipt) andthey said I had an insurance lapse (not true, I have proof with Allstate, Geicoand The Department of Motor Vehicle). When the man repossessed the car I wasnot home and there was not any issue giving up the car. The person who took the car called from hiscell phone. The next day I contacted himbecause my son said he was from the DMV. When I asked him who he was he wouldn't tell me but when I did say myson said you were from DMV he insisted that he did not say that. I asked if he turned in plates and he saidyes and he mailed the receipt but also stated that my license was beingsuspended for no insurance. Well I immediately contacted Geico, my currentinsurance company, and they said they were looking at the same thing that DMVlooked at and said I had never had a lapse.

I contacted DMV the next morningand told them the same story and they said "we would never tell anyonethat besides you, and no you are fine and have always had insurance and no yourlicense isn't being suspended." They then said that the person who took my car would not be mailing thereceipt, they would and yes the plates were turned in. Rodney Goldstein then in turn filed a claimwith Allstate who I had car insurance with up until August.in December my estranged husband hit a poststicking out of a drive-thru at Dunkin Donuts. A small scrape was put on the driver side. I did begin a claim with Allstate but feltthat it really wasn't that major to get fixed. On October 15 I received an e-mail from Allstate that Rodney Goldsteinhad filed a claim stating the accident happened in April and gave them atotally different story. I calledAllstate and told them to look back at their records to make them aware of thefraudulent claim he filed.
