The sound from the radio in my 6 year old Mercedes-Benz light truck, ML350 4DR AWD suddenly stopped working. The service advisor at the American Service Center in Arlington, VA.informed me that I need a new radio. That the radio in a $47,000.00 luxury car would suddenly stopped working with normal usage and no collision and abuse in 6 years. Even a Ford Pinto's cheapest radio last the lifetime of the car of about 20 years. I had a Ford Pinto once before whose radio lasted this long. This has to be a manufacurer's defect but the dealership states its to be expeecd and a wants me to pay about $1,000.00 for a replacement new radio. The manufacturer should be responsible for this, A Mercedes-Benz radio should last londer then 6 years of normal use. If Merceses-Benz prides itself on luxury and first product, then it should stand behind its product and whatevetr is in its product. The manufacturer should replace this radio free of charge.
