I bought a car, a lincoln towncar signature edition from second chance motors on April 23rd of 2010. It has been going on 3 months and the car cannot be registered in my name because of the title is in the previous owner's name. I contacted their corporate office in which is said to be located in marietta about this matter as they kept putting me on hold and everytime i asked a question it seemed as if they were quick to put me off or transfer me to a non existension nuimber within their office. I finally, got in contact with someone on June 16 and i spoke to a woman by the name of Ms Stringer. She assured me that she will go down to the tag/title office to handle this matter regarding my tag/title. After just about ten days i followed up by contacting the dmv tax commissiners office to see if my tag was ready. They told me that it was still in the previous owner's name and that a tag could not be issued due to this matter. I contacted Second Chance Motors again and asked to speak to Ms. Stringer and they told me she does not work there anymore. They then told me to speak to a woman by the name of Alma Nata as when i requested to speak to her she does not work there anymore either. I then was transfered to a woman by the name Monet and i thouroughly spoke to her and she told me that she would get the matter handled as soon as possible and that she had just been placed in that position as of June June 23rd 2010.
It has been about three to 4 months and all i want is my tag information transferred in my name. The car is financed through SCM Credit. I offered to come up there and speak with someone and they told me that they just dont allow anyone to come up there and speak to them. I never heard of a corporate office on america that does not allow a customer to speak with someone face to face. There is something fishy about this situation and it does not sound right. I am not paying my car note until i get some information. If you are a lawyer and would like to take this case then i will by all means be interested in you assisting me in this case. I heard several other customers going through the same thing i am going through and they cannot get their tags neither. What is going on? I have had several vehicles and i have never been through something as simple as getting a tag/decal on my car and i am unable to do that because the lienholder Second chance motors will not get the proper information from the previous owner they purchased the vehicle from at an auction.
