I recently purchased a 2001 Honda Civic EX from Car//Banc. Upon initial inspection, the engine, transmittion, and most of the essential features seemed okay. They informed me that the brakes and compressor would need to be fixed beforehand. When I went to pick it up on the set date, I was informed that the compressor was not in yet, and that I should bring it back the following day to get it replaced. After finally getting it in, I heard a loud grinding noise that I was told was the "new compressor". My car died the following night while driving, forcing me to have it towed. It turns out the alternator/AC belt was completely shredded, that being the grinding noise I heard the previous day. After this occured, numerous other problems sprung up. Everytime I would turn on the A/C, it would rapidly turn my clutch on and off and almost kill my car (I later found out that this was the compressor again, and they had replaced mine with a cheap refurbished one from a junk yard). As well, the tension on my break pedal would fluctuate greatly, I had basically bald tires (all the cars in the lot were like this), and there would be a constant noise from under my car. Further inspection revealed that the car was at least partially dismantled, was in multiple small collisions, and had essentially just been spray painted to look nice. Everything they promised to fix did NOT get fixed or GOT WORSE! When we confronted the dealers about this, they said they would "see what they could do" and we have not heard from them since. Do NOT buy a used car from this business. Absolute scam.
