Home Depot sold us a stainless steel Maytag French Door model MFD2561KES with a bottom freezer, along with the extended warranty. Soon after it arrived, a noise began, apparently from the compressor, lasting roughly 3 seconds whenever the compressor starts.
Lately I rang the extended warranty number, and their answer was that nothing would be done unless it fails. After reading about the numerous Maytag problems today, I have decided never to bother repairing it once it quits. We will not buy another Maytag.
