How Can General Motors tollerated the on going problems with the the removal of the spare wheel on pick up Truck??? RnThe desing is totaly patetic. I can't believe that GM engineering are not capable or choose to ignore or resolved this major (Safety) problem after so many years, Instead of redesigning the (Hoist holding mechanism, they instead added a bandage solution with the safety lock. What a frustrating Joke. Rn My truck is 21/2 years old (loved it until this frustrating incident), rnI needed to use the spare wheel, it took more than 2 hours to lowered the wheel. RnEh! Wake up when your customers have to change a wheel they are not always inside a heated Garage equipted with hoist and all. RnFirst the plastic guide tube was displaced, obstruting the rod wrench to conect with the drive tip. Did any one ever try drag yourself underneed a truck on the side of a wet gravel road to relocated a misc conceived tube that is poorly retained with two little plastic tabs. RnSecond the cable came down properly, however the wheel did not came down as the safety mechanism would not released. Rn The solution from G.M. Was< oh well get it towed to our garage and we will torch the hoist off and replaced it> HO! Ho! Ho! Santas is coming! Please don't blame the dealer on this one, Only GM engineering is responsiblernCould you imagine how anxious I'm to buy another GM product!
