I have a 2004 Ford Focus. I have had this car for only four years. I bought it in 2006. My steering wheel and ignition locked. I looked up the problem on internet and found out that this was a problem that the Ford Focus have but it was never recalled. It needed another ignition cylinder. I ended up having it towed to Rusty Eck Ford for repairs. I picked up the car the next day and when I drove it the steering wheel was very loose. I returned to the dealership to make them aware of the problem. The service advisor gave me various excuses. I then had him drive the car to see what I was talking about. He returned knowing that the steering wheel was loose as well as unsafe. He then decided to pass the blame on the tow (AAA) and he also said that the steering wheel was like that before it locked. I told him that it was not. They refused to repair the steering wheel without cost to myself. I feel very unsafe driving the car with the wheel like that and the service advisor didn't have any concern about it being unsafe and just let me leave with it in that condition. I called the Manager of the service department and he suggested that I bring it back in so that they could look at it. Looking at it will not fix it. I am very disappointed in the Ford Industry for only thinking of money rather than an individuals safety. I believe that they took advantage of me. Now I am stuck with an unsafe vehicle and I can't afford to purchase another nor have it repaired. This is my transportation to work and various places and I have to drive in fear. This is unexceptable. So I am going to take this matter a bit higher to get satisfaction. This is NOT good business.
