I went to Les Schwab to get my front brakes done. They quoted me $175.00 for the job. I also wanted the front end aligned, that was quoted at $48.00. I got a call later in the day that the front rotors needed replacement, another $100.00. Then the back brakes were bad too. The total now was $550.00. The next call was for tires, all my tires were bad and they recommended replacement. I told them I was out of money since I was only counting on spending $175.00 and now it was up to $550.00, I told them to get me a quote and I would decide where to go for tires later.
They called back about an hour later and said that I would be buying tires from them today and if I didn't they would not release my car to me. I have AAA so I could of had it towed somewhere else, but they said it was unsafe and would not allow it to leave. My total bill was $938.00, I not saying the repairs weren't needed but it should have been my decision where the work was to be done and they knew from the beginning the tires were bad but I wasn't told until all the other work was done. I was forced into a corner and will never trust Les Schwab again, these types of shady business practices need to stop.
