My wife took our minivan to Les Schwab for new tires after I installed new struts. I also told her we might need an alignment done.

She told them I put new struts on, but they never mentioned anything to her about maybe needing an alignment, or if the tires looked un-evenly worn.

Now it is one month later and the tires are worn down to the wear-bars. The wear is even, probably because they are on the front of a front-wheel drive vehicle.

My wife went back to Les Schwab today, and they said "whoever put the struts in did it wrong, so the tires wore out too fast".

They also accused me of replacing the struts AFTER the tires were installed!

Well, I have pictures! Because this was my first strut job on a vehicle, and I just got this nifty little digital camera, I took before-and after photos!

I can prove the struts were installed before the new tires, because you can see the old brown tires with brake-pad residue on them.

Needless to say, my wife paid $48 for an alignment, and we still have almost-bald tires. They would not replace them unless we paid for new tires.

We will never go there again, and I will tell every one I know (trust me, I know a LOT of people) never go to Les Schwab.

If the car needed alignment before the new tires were installed, any competent tire person would have kindly suggested it.
