Bad Service

The transmission on my 2008 Ford Focus was damaged by my son trying to pull my car out of the mud. He was not covered under my insurance so therefore I was stuck paying out of pocket. Ford quoted me 5,000 to get my car repaired, because of my financial situation I shopped around. I located a company on the internet by the name of TranmissionCiti.com. They assured me that there was a lifetime guarantee on their work, and that they could rebuild my transmission for 2991.00. That included everything. I was so desperate that I neither did research on this company, nor did I shop further. I just wanted my car fixed. My car was then towed to Aamco. This is where the nightmare began. On Aug 14 Aamco called me to tell me my car was ready after a few weeks in the shop. I was so excited to have my car back, so I thought. I paid Aamco 1050.60 for the labor which was part of the 2991 quoted to me. I proceeded to leave the shop, drove for about 30 minutes then noticed my car was acting funny. It was jerking and making a strange noise around the brakes. Called Aamco spoke to Olympio who said I'm sorry I will have the tow truck pick it up and we will repair it. Again after a few weeks in the shop Olympio called and said my car was ready. Went to pick it. On the way home I noticed that the car was shifting really bad and that the brakes were making a loud noise, and the ABS light was on along with the transmission light. I was hoping that it would magically go away, but it didn't. I took it to Ford because I thought it might be something else other than the transmission wrong with it. They later called me in to show me that the transmission was leaking, and that there were some very loose bolts and missing calipers. I called Olympio and he got kinda mad and said why didn't you call me. He then sent a tow truck to pick my car up again. After about three weeks not hearing from Olympio I called to check the status of my car. He claimed that they were waiting for a part, and should be ready by the end of the week. After a few days he called and said my car was ready. I didn't believe him, but had no choice to go pick up my car. I brought the car home and noticed that the shifting got worse when I would reverse and the ABS light was still on. I drove it for a couple of days before calling to complain once again about the shifting and the ABS light he said to bring it in and they would have a look at it. I brought it on a Sat., sat in the waiting room for what seemed forever just to have him bring me a little slip of paper saying that my censors were bad and I needed to replace them. I asked about the shifting he said it should be fine now. Yeah right! The next morning my car would not go in reverse. Called again this time I warned him I was going to take him to court if they did not repair it correctly, and he once again he assured me he would fix it. Needless to say he didn't. I finally borrowed some money from a family member and took it into a local repair shop where they said that the transmsission was leaking and that the censors were badly broken by whoever repaired my car. I was lucky that someone had totaled their Focus and was able to get their transmission and censors put into mine by this shop. Finally after paying an additional 2200.00 my car was finally repaired. My complaint is Aamco knew the whole time that they were monkeying around with my car and just saw the word stupid on my forehead. It burns me up that companies on the internet and so called trusted companies like Aamco can just get away with things like this. I am a hard working consumer who threw away hard earned dollars on garbage, and I have nobody to protect me and my rights. The only recourse is forking out more money to take them to court.
