Brake Team
Bait and switch, bad customer service, horriable communication

I'm posting this review everywhere on the internet for anyone who is thinking about taking advantage of the $88 break special at Break Team. DONT DO IT! Go to your regular mechanic for your breaks. I went into 82nd Break Team thinking I'll just get my break pads done and be happy but as I soon learned it's a hard knock life in this crazy world we live in and some business don't care about loyalty they care about volume and if they ruin every business relationship that comes through that door their special will just pull in another victim to their evil web.

I went in to get my front break pads done the guy seemed super nice said ok we will take a look I wasn't in a hurry I had homework to do so they took a while to even give me the walk around. They went over everything that they would recommend which is fine but I told him I wasn't interested because I just bought the car and did a 500 repair just sign me up for the $88 special. Well while we are about to go over it this guy comes in behind me and starts yelling about how he wants his money, apparently a log knot? (sorry not good with cars) was stripped and his wife was driving to Bend and he wanted his 40 dollars he was being really loud and confrontational so me being a very timid girl walked away to the waiting area. I come back after this guy throws his fit and apparently gets his money this should have been a foreshadow and I should have just walked away here and went straight to my regular mechanic but I didn't. So this guy after being yelled at and confronted by a pretty intimidating not so gentlemen puts out 3 estimates. I smile and say I want the cheap 88 one and point to the one in the middle. He then move them around and has me sign. I sign and go back to my homework a long time passes a nice lady and her child come in they are having problems with their crv. Apparently, the wrong break pads were put on her car she is on the phone with her husband he said to look at car, she does. I think her husband was trying to warn her of something.

To recap 2 people have come in with bad experiences and I haven't seen one person leave happy yet in the 2 plus hours I was at this establishment. I then go up, my car Is finally ready me being the naive person I am thinking because I'm a good honest person everyone else will be in my life I couldn't be more wrong! So I go up give him my card midway signing I look down 249! What! I just wanted the 88 dollar special apparently I signed the estimate with all the recommendations.in my business law class states that the court looks at past behaviors well all my past behaviors would show I was expecting 88 and any service oriented person would communicated with me the difference not this place. Maybe there was an honest mistake maybe the lack of communication was just a consequence of being frazzled by the intimidating guy. After reading reviews from other consumers I doubt it. That is why I'm sending my story out to the universe just in case a more savvy person who would research before they went somewhere would read this and not bother with this place. At the end they made it a straight 200 but I was only expecting to spend 90 at best so not only did I get called crazy, basically get called a liar, and had my afternoon completely ruined, I also ended up over budgeted but they don't care some other sap will come in and the cycle will continue. I don't wish anyone ill will but part of me kind of wonders will these people ever be held accountable? Most likely not to file a court case isn't worth the hundred I lost.
