I am a single mother of 2, and got damaged credit due to a divorce that ended up getting a car repossessed. I got a car from a buy here pay here place, that died after 4 months. I had decided to call the credit repair center aka Klick Lewis Auto center.
At first it was great, the salesman was keith, he was nice, pleasant and seemed eager to help. The finance company they work with will "approve" anyone keith said, with $$2500 down. I have money just not good credit so I had to put down $2800.00. We got all the information and "finalized" everything, or so I thought. I was given a 2001 Mitsubishi Galant.
The car was more then the kelley blue book or what it was worth, but I figured since my credit wasnt that great, that was the reasoning. The interest was close to 18% again my credit wasnt that good. The dealer had bank statements of my income, and then the horror started. I was to take in a pay stub to him on Thursday July 31. Everything sound great so far right?
The salesman calls the next day to say that he wants me to take this other insurance company he knows, and I told him I already have insurance he calls every day for almost a week about this other company, and I told him I was not changing my agent. ON Thursday, July 31 keith calls again leaving messages on my answering machine stating that i have stolen the car, and that I must bring the car back by 8 P.M. At this time I am lost and confused since the deal was "finalized" a week ago. He stated he is pressing charges, and calling the state police on me? I was so dismayed at this point.
Within fifteen minutes of the last message I get a call from the local police station saying that I have unauthorized use of the car. I was like but I bought the car and he stated they are pressing charges and if you do not take the car back right now, then i will have to charge you with unauthorized use of a car. I asked the police what that means he said Automobile Theft???
Can you believe this I stole a car I had already supposely sealed the deal on???
After all the harassment and aggravation, I had called the owner ofthe dealership, who was a little helpful but not by much. I had decided to just go to the dealership and give my paystubs to Keith as the owner said to do, and everything will be ok. I go to the dealership in a hurry not to be charged with some bogus charges, and when i get there keith comes a storming up he lot, and said oh you brought my car back good now mind you i was in a hurry, and i forgot the second set of keys. He stated well you need to go get the keys before we close or im caling the police and you will go to jail tonight. Keith started yelling at me and my fiancee was with me at the time, and screaming and saying we dont want you as a customer, and the manager comes out, and he is still yelling and told to go to his office, the audacity that this guy wants me to walk back home which is 2 miles away and be back at his dealership in one hour and a half is proposterous. I have never dreamed that you can buy a car, finalize everything, and drive away in a car and week later having harassing phone calls, telling you that you are being charged with automobile theft.
I am sending this report because I do not want to see another person to have to deal with this abusive, audacious, manipulative company ever again. I hope the company goes bankrupt and never sales another car. I know that I made mistakes with my credit, but no one, and I mean no one deserves this treatment no matter who they are. The humility that these people possess is horrible. After a deal is sealed that does mean the car is yours right? I did drive the car up but to make a pregnant woman walk 2 miles or more back home, and say thats your f* problem that is just so degrading and humiliating, when I didn't do anything wrong he did, all because I didnt take his insurance that I dont know, but its all a bunch of bs. I hope this company can no longer victimize people in any way.
Beware of this crooked and devious company. This is the biggest rip off that i have ever seen or dealt with in my entire life. Do not be fooled or scammed by the charm because its all a facade.
