East Coast Nissan
Dishonest Business ripoff and dishonest sales staff

My experience at East Coast Nissan was one of many disappointments. The car was purchased at the end of the month and the salesperson was eager to close the deal. We were able to come to an agreement but we had some issues. The car I decided to purchase had the panel around the rear license plate missing. I decided I still wanted the car so I told the salesperson I would pick up the car after the panel was replaced.

The salesperson was insistent on me taking the car because it was the end of the month. They had to meet their end of the month quota. I agreed to take the car on one condition, that the salesperson come to my home and pick up the car and get the panel replaced. I live a few blocks from the dealership. The salesperson told me it would take one business day to get the panel replaced.in other words he would pick up the car on Tuesday morning and return the car sometime after 5 PM on Tuesday.

I came home to find the car in my driveway with the panel still missing. I drove the car down to the dealership to determine why the car was not fixed. The excuse given to me by the salesperson was that there was a miscommunication about picking up the car. I ended up leaving the car for them to fix it. It took them two days to fix the panel. Two weeks after I received the car I noticed that the panel is vibrating and I relayed this information to the salesperson.

The other problem was with the finance person. The finance person wanted to sell me an extended warranty and I told him I wanted to think it over. We came to agreement that if he incorporated the extended warranty in the contract I had 48 hrs to change my mind. I told him to go ahead and incorporate the warranty in the contract. The following day I went back to the dealership to have them remove the extended warranty from my contract and he gave me a difficult time.

The conversation was escalated to his manager and his manager told him he had to redo the contract. Between the salesperson and the financial person they made an error with my monthly payment. I say error because Im giving them the benefit. Had I not checked the numbers thoroughly I would be paying an extra $30 dollars a month. Thirty dollars a month is not a big deal but for someone that is on a tight budget its a big deal.

I later found another problem with the car. The rubber weather on the driver side door had cut in the seal. I took the car back to the dealer and showed the tear to the salesperson. We took the car over to the service department to have them take a look at the problem. The service person determined that the rubber seal would need to be replaced. The part was not in stock so they had to place an order for the part. They assured me they would call me when the part came in and it would take about two weeks the most.

Two weeks went by and I had not heard from them so I gave them a call. The person I spoke with checked their computer system to see my order and he told me that since this order has been in the system for two weeks it should have been placed on back order. He said he would look into the problem and give me a call. No one called so I decided to give the salesperson that sold me the car a call. The salesperson said he would look into it and have the parts department give me a call. About two hours later someone from the parts department gave me a call to tell me that the order is still in the system and he is still checking to see why the order was not placed on back order.

I was not satisfied with that answer so I decided to go to the dealership and talk to my salesperson. I explained to him what happened and we both went over to the parts department to find out that the part was now placed on back order. I am still waiting for them to call me to let me know when they can fix the vibration and the replace the torn weather seal.

In summary, the service department is going to fix the panel vibration and the weather seal as soon they get the rubber seal in. The reason I went to that dealership is simply because it is close to my home. I would not recommend this dealership to my friends or enemies. My experience at East Coast Nissan was one of many disappointments. I like the car but the situation that these guys put me in was not pleasant for my wife or me!
