My pregnant wife and myself were in the market to looking for a new car, since i had just gotten promoted in the navy. I was wanting something nice and sporty and luxurious, but a new car was just way to high out of my price range.
My wife and myself had decided to go and look around for so called "certified" cars because they would still be newer, and inspected buy a dealership that had a big name in the local area. I had decided to go with a 2002 audi a6 quattro.
I figured that that it would be a good car that was nice and most of all safe for my new wife and soon to be new-born. Me and my wife loved the car and we got everything taken care of at the dealership, which was a very long process, and clayton the "sales manager" was probably one of the rudist people i have meet, and he was awalys making fun of our car salesman, blas, which by the way was very helpful and friendly to us.
I had asked the sales manager what would happen if anything happens to the car within the next couple of months, and he said if anything were to happen to our car, keith pearson would definatly have it coverd, beacuse they have their reputaition to protect, and shook my hand on it. I walk out of the store thinking that whatever were to happend to me, keith pearson would have my back, and i talked nothing but highly of them to everyone i knew because of the beautiful car and great price we got it for, even though the service was a little skechy.
The first night i had the car, it overheated. They had immeadiatly fixed the problem, after having it in a couple of times to find the leak. It ended up being the water pump, and they replaced it no problem.
2-3 months, and 3k miles later, my car had just died on the highway. I had called the dealership and asked them if they could help me and my stranded pregnant wife with a tow. They had said that they couldnt do it, so i had asked if they could at least give us a ride back to town, and they said no.
I was furious!!! I called keith pearson himself on monday and had explained the situation, and he said well you bought a used car with 65k miles on it, what did you expect. I had told him that i paid more money for that car than a lot of his scions cost and this is how they leave me hanging? He then basically told me there was nothing that he was going to do.
At first i thought that this was going to be a little timing belt replacement, well come to find out this is almost $10,000 project, that none of the mechanics in town will even deal with it. The only ones are the VW and AUDI dealerships, and they have the motor sent off to michigan, because this is too big of a project.
I tried having a naval JAG officer (a military lawyer) contact keith pearson and he basically told him he wasnt going to do anything as well.
So now here i am, up at midnight, typing this complaint because i just had gotten off of my second job, and have to be up at 0530. My baby is due in 2 months, and we are currently driving in a pos escort with 140,000 miles with a tranny on its way out. I would like to spend time with my wife and my new daugther, but how am i to do this with working 18 hours a day, 7 days a week? Its a burdon im not enjoying. Something that would take keith pearson just a few seconds to write a check for, will take me at least 6 months to work off, and delays me from moving into an actual house, which we were looking forward to. I hope keith sleeps nice in his million dollar house with his twin daughters
