Durham Village Garage
Unfairly charged for auto repai

I am a student at UNH - I reside in Braintree, MAOn Jan. 26 my car overheated while at school - I took it toDurham Garage - they told me I needed a new radiator. After discussing with my regular mechanic in Braintree I had the work done for $399.97 (new radiator, antifreeze, hardware) While on my way back to school on Sunday, Dec. 6 the jeep again overheated. I stopped several times and added water to the radiator. I took the Jeep back to Durham Garage. I was called by the garage and told I needed a new radiator. The man stated "sometimes they get these cheap radiators from China, etc"I then explained that he had installed the radiator. He then said he would replace the radiator - his cost - which I took to mean he was replacing at no charge to me. I picked the jeep up on Dec. 10 and was charged $337.21 for a new radiator, antifreeze, thermostat, oil and filter. I was never told that the engine might have been affected by the defective radiator. I asked him why he was charging me again. Said he couldn't warantee the radiator for more than a year. Today I am home for the holidays in Braintree and the Jeep filled with a burning smell. My mechanic told me the engine was "shot" more than likely from the defective radiator. I don't have the money to buy a new car. I don't feel that Durham Village Garage dealt fairly in this instance. I feel the life expectancy of a radiator should be longer than 3 years.
