We all have horror stories about the chaney's and their unheard of business tactics so let's stop anyone else from getting ripped apart by these ruthless greedy nasty people.
I remember a very sad situation i witnessed one day at chaneys. I do not know who the young mother was but i have not forgotten her plight. I was there making a payment and everyone was busy so i waited outside. Outside is where joel chaney forces everyone he has repoed their car-then told them to come up there to pay-then makes them sit outside in the heat until they get tired and leave. If anyone objects to the wait-he has his bodyguards tell them to get off the property and that the sheriff is being called. This one day as i sat there, a young mother with 3 small children and a baby in her arms was one of the unfortunate victims who was 3 days late on her car payment. She told me that she had called and told them she was going to be a few days late and they said they would mark her account but instead they took her car. As she stood there the small children were restless and she tried to keep them calm. The chaney's bodyguards had given her back her car seat for the baby that was in the car but she had no place to put it. Someone had dropped her off so she could pay the back payment and she thought she was going to be driving her car home so the person left. Chaney's had told her all she had to do was come up there and pay the $200.00 and she could have the car. As she waited one of the bodyguards came out and told her to leave. She asked about her car and she was told unless she paid another $2000.00 plus the $200.00 she was behind plus $900.00 for the tow she could not have her car. She did not have the money and had no way to get home. Her children were crying because they were hot and thirsty. She asked the one bodyguard could she go inside to get a drink for her children and was told to get off the lot or the police would be called. It was horrible. I have never felt so bad for anyone. As she started walking someone who overheard it all offered to take her and the children home. She was heartbroken. Come on, having to pay every 2 weeks and not having any grace period to make your payment? On top of that, they lie to you. Good business people at least tell the truth. These chaney's could not tell the truth if it bit them. They are the worse of cowards because they set traps for people that will fail by making the payments too frequent and it gives them the opportunity to repo quicker-which is their scam.
Write all and anyone and call all of the local attorneys in avon park and ask them to help all who need help from this ripoff company. If you cannot locate a local attorney, call the neighboring towns. Royce chaney lives in haines city and joel lives in sebring and larry lives in avon park. They may know some of the officials and attorneys but not all of them and there are other towns. Do yourself and everyone a favor and find one. If we are all out there looking, someone is going to locate one to take this on. Also write everyone-congress-senators, mayors, county commissioners, everyone. Someone is going to take notice.in some towns they have newsmen that would love to get their hands on a story like this-try them. I know there is a 'help me howard' in miami. Find him or someon like him and fight these crooks. The least that might happen is these crooks might be forced to conduct business properly. The most is that every person cheated by these scroundrels may get their money back.
If by august joel chaney had made 9 million dollard for just think in november how much he has made. He repos cars daily and never never gives back the money for re-selling the cars. Let's get the money back for these people. They not only need it-they deserve it.
