I went to this tire sho to get a new set of tires. (4) These tires would cost about 700.00 and I chose a tire that came with road side assistance. I got there at 1030am and never left until after 330pm. I had to call the police to get my car back. When I went in to the store I was told the tires are in stock and I would have an hour wait. Soon after I heard the man on the phone calling around looking for the tire. I asked what happened to my tires he said he had. He said he could only find one. So he said we had about another hour wait. At 3 pm I looked at my car up in the air and still no one was working on it. I asked the manager to check for me and tell me why no one one was wroking on it. He said give us 15 minutes I promise. So at 330 I was told the car is ready. I said I want to inspect the work before paying. The 3 tires that they had gone after looked new and mounted correctly. The old tire lying around their store since 3 looked dry rotted and has low tire pressure. I had asked for a tire with a heat ristance rating of a or aa, a speed rating of s or t or higher and a tire tread of over 550/ The man who helped me chose the tire had lied to me about these ratings. ALso the three new tires were made on 3 and the old bad tire was 3. I am suppose to pay 700.00 for these tires and no discount for waiting over 6 hours. I refused to accept the tires and wanted the bad one replaced. The manager had a fit and told the employees to remove the tires and not to put my tires back on until closing time. That was 9pm. So I called my husband a retired state trooper and he said to call the police. A state trooper and to city police arrived. The cuty police were offered 5 free oil changes in front of me and the trooper by the manager. They declined the offer so he told them to come back later. The trooper told the manager he would not leave his store until I had my car back. He told the manager to rebalance my tires and to make sure they were mounted properly. The state trooper really did a great job getting me my car back in under 30 minutes. I reported the manager to Good Year in Akron Ohio and was told they did not own the store at this location and to contact Mike McGee the owner. I tried calling him on Monday and got an area supervisor who listened to my complaint and then said he would have atalk with the manager. I told him I am disabled, had no access to my insulin that was in my car in the heat for over 6 hours and no access to any of my medications because this manager kept telling me I am not diabled even when i asked him for help. He just laughed at me and told me I was a good story teller. When I called the police he laughed at me again and told me this is just a civil matter and the police would do nothing. Yet he called his wife and told her to get the kid and come up to the shop right away so he could project this kind family man image. He put me through so much stress and anxiety and ruined my insulin. Yet I did not get an apology or my new tires after all of this nightmare. So all I can say is if you go to this location of Mc Gee Tire know what you want, get the price and get a guranteed wait time. Make them show you the rating of the tires that are written on the tire. If you do not nderstand tire ratings look it up online before ever buying a tire so you hopefully get the tire you want for high temptures and high speed driving on the road. Nothing they say to you is applicable so get everything in writing and do not pay for anything until you see it, check every thing out and make sure you get what you orderd. All the tires should be the same size, date, and rating must be all the same. They tell you there is a 30 day gurantee and try to get you to take bad tires but refuse to do this and call the police or MC Gee Tires in Lakeland and ask for Mike McGee. I am writing to him this week since I still have unresolved issues with the store and the manager. I forgot to mention during my over 6 hour wait I was the only customer from 11am to 3pm in that store so I still have no understanding as why I had to wait that long for a bad tire or why any customer should ever have to wait that long for any service they have to offer. It is really unforgivable.
